Alexis Lecaye

Alexis Lecaye (born August 22, 1951 in Alexandria ) is a French writer and screenwriter who is best known in France for the crime series Julie Lescaut . He has published some of his works under the pseudonym Alexandre Terrel .

life and work

Lecaye grew up in Lebanon and France. After studying history, he first worked as a screenwriter for various French films and then later for French television. He has been reaching a large audience there since 1992 with the television series about Police Commissioner Julie Lescaut, whose character goes back to a novel by him.

In addition to his work for film and television, Lecaye has also published a large number of novels since 1980, which are set in fields as diverse as crime fiction, science fiction literature, and children's and youth literature. Some of his books have been translated into German, including his crime series about Commissioner Martin.

For his detective novel Le Témoin est à la noce he was awarded the Prix ​​du Roman d'Aventures in 1984.
