Alfons Längle

Alfons Längle (born February 16, 1912 in Altach ; † September 22, 2005 there ) was an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ) and entrepreneur. From 1964 to 1974 he was a member of the Vorarlberg state parliament .

education and profession

After finishing elementary school in Altach, Längle attended the Reutlingen Textile Technology Center and served in World War II between 1940 and 1945, returning from captivity in 1945. He worked professionally as a managing partner of the company Gebrüder Längle Wirkwaren in Altach and the company Frixa, lingerie factory in Vienna. In 1983 he handed the company over to his successor.

Politics and functions

Längle was a member of the Austrian People's Party and active in the Austrian Economic Association. From 1947 he held the position of a member of the state leadership of the Vorarlberg Economic Association and worked in the ÖVP from 1964 to 1974 as a member of the state party leadership of the ÖVP Vorarlberg. He was also a member of the state party council of the ÖVP Vorarlberg from 1964 to 1969 and a member of state party control. Local Politically, he was active 1955-1960 as a member of the municipal council of Altach, Vorarlberg in parliament he represented as a deputy of the constituency Feldkirch the People's Party of 29 October 1964 to 28 October 1969 and November 5, 1969 to November 3, 1974 .

From 1946 to 1980, Längle was also a member of the Chamber Council of the Industry Section of the Vorarlberg Chamber of Commerce, a committee member of the Association of the Vorarlberg Embroidery Industry and a member of the board of the Vorarlberg Federation of Industrialists. He also acted as deputy chairman of the industry section of the Vorarlberg Chamber of Commerce, was censor of the National Bank and member of the supervisory board of the "Dornbirn trade fair" and the "Parkhotel Dornbirn".

Private

Längle was the son of a factory owner and married Martha Beniger in 1945. He was the father of two sons and a daughter.
