The Alfred I. duPont – Columbia University Award honors outstanding radio and online journalism that serves the common good. Founded in 1942 by Jessie Ball duPont in memory of her husband Alfred I. du Pont, the prize has been awarded by the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism in New York City since 1968 . It is considered the radio counterpart to the Pulitzer Prize , which is also awarded by Columbia University.
