Alfred Mumbächer

Alfred Mumbächer (born May 6, 1888 in Mainz-Bretzenheim ; † February 13, 1953 in Mainz ) was a German landscape painter of the 20th century.

Life

Mumbächer was born in Mainz in 1888 as the second son of the businessman Heinrich Mumbächer and his wife Therese. He attended the Rabanus-Maurus-Gymnasium in Mainz and passed the Abitur there. In 1907 he began studying law in Munich, but switched to the Munich Art Academy in 1910. Mumbächer was a city and landscape painter of the 20th century.

The Alfred Mumbächer Street in Mainz-Bretzenheim is named after him.
