Alfred Wessner-Collenbey

Alfred Wessner-Collenbey (born as Alfred Weßner ; * 1873 in Ostrau , district of Merseburg , province of Saxony ; † 1940 in Halberstadt , province of Saxony) was a German painter and graphic artist .

Life

Alfred Weßner studied at the arts and crafts schools in Dresden and Zurich. From 1907 to 1920 he lived in Collenbey near Merseburg, which he added to his family name. He was also active in Halle an der Saale and in Merseburg .

Alfred Wessner-Collenbey mainly created drawings, often as watercolors , and graphics. He illustrated several local and historical books.

His estate is in the Halle city archive.
