Alfredshütte

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Alfredshütte was a steelworks near Stolberg (Harz) and Rottleberode in the Krummschlachttal. The copper smelter was on the Krummschlachtwasser. In 1853 a pig iron or blast furnace and a cooking stove were in operation there, which produced 71 quintals of copper. In 1860 it was 221 hundredweight. On January 4, 1869, the Alfredshütte, then owned by the Stolberger Bergbau- und Hütten-Actien-Gesellschaft , had to be auctioned off to the public. In 1881 the pharmacist Dr. Lössner from Leipzig owns the hut. In 1936 the Alfredshütte is still on the table sheet.
