Algarrobo (San Antonio)
Algarrobo is a city and municipality in the province of San Antonio , Chile . It is located on the coast and is a popular resort for the people of Santiago . The city is upscale and is close to El Quisco and Valparaíso . The city received a lot of attention when the San Alfonso del Mar was awarded the largest pool in the world.
population
At the 2007 census, Algarrobo was 175.6 km² and had 13,817 inhabitants. Of these, 6,734 were male residents and 7,083 were female residents. 10,899 of the inhabitants lived in the urban area of Algarrobo. Compared to the last census, the population grew by 5525.
Municipal council
The municipal council is made up of three parties:
- PP: 42.15% (1302 voters)
- PSOE: 42.89% (1,325 voters)
- Ciudadanos: 11.59% (853 voters)
This means that the PP and PSOE each provide six city councilors and Ciudadanos one.
