The Algemiene Fryske Ûnderrjocht Kommisje ( Afûk ) ( German  General Frisian Education Commission ) is an institution founded in 1924 for the Frisian language with headquarters in the Dutch city of Leeuwarden . Afûk gained fame primarily as a publisher and as a course institute. It offers Frisian courses for speakers of Frisian and Dutch, which are attended by around 700 to 1100 participants each year. Its tasks include supplying numerous kindergartens and schools in the primary and secondary levels with teaching materials. With the Gemeenten und Frysk program, the Afûk advises local authorities on the Frisian language. With the Praat mar Frysk project , she tries to promote the Frisian language in public, especially among young people, for which she has numerous ambassadors such as B. recruited Doutzen Kroes .
