Algimantas Matulevičius

Algimantas Matulevičius (born January 19, 1948 in Dvariukai , Prienai district ) is a Lithuanian politician.

Life

He learned in Šilavotas , Mačiūnai , Liudvinavas and Laurai . In 1965 he graduated from the Vilnius Polytechnic and became a technologist. From 1967 to 1969 he served in the Soviet Army. In 1974 he graduated from the Faculty of Industrial Economics at Vilniaus valstybinis universitetas . From 1981 to 1991 he was general manager of "Neringa". In 1987 he received his doctorate in economics . 1990–1993 he headed the Lithuanian Federation of Industrialists . From 1992 to 1993 he was minister without portfolio in the 5th government and from 2000 to 2008 a member of the Seimas , selected in the Utena constituency .

From 1999 to 2002 he was a member of the Lietuvos liberalų sąjunga and from 2008 of Pilietinės democijos partija .

His brother is Vytautas Matulevičius (* 1952), journalist and politician.
