Ali Seyni

Ali Seyni (* 1938 in Kassani ; † December 17, 2004 in Niamey ) was a Nigerien politician .

Life

Ali Seyni was trained as an engineer for agricultural technology. He worked as the director of the hydrological service department in the Ministry of Rural Development in the 1980s . Seyni was politically involved in the Democratic and Social Assembly party (CDS-Rahama). He became mayor of the capital Niamey on November 30, 1991 as the successor to Amadou Fiti Maïga with the title of Prefect President. In this capacity he was replaced by Moussa Ladan on November 25, 1992 . Ali Seyni was also a member of the National Assembly . He worked as an advisor to the Prime Minister and as an expert for various international organizations.

He was personally interested in the old traditions and cultures of Niger. Sick in the years before his death, he died in Niamey in 2004.
