Alicia Asconeguy

Alicia Asconeguy (born November 19, 1949 in Montevideo , Uruguay ) is a Uruguayan painter and graphic artist.

education

Asconeguy successfully completed her training in visual communication at the Instituto de Profesores Artigas (IPA), which she graduated in 1975. She also studied from 1969 to 1971 at the Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes (ENBA) and with Francisco Musetti , Fernando García Esteban and Miguel Battegazzore .

Professional activities

Asconeguy, who taught at the Club de Grabado school and the Escuela del Taller Americano de Tapicería, teaches visual communication and color theory at the IPA.

Artistic career

Since 1978 she has been holding solo exhibitions both nationally and internationally. She also took part in several group exhibitions. She has received numerous awards for her work. In 1980 she received the Spanish Embassy Prize (Premio Embajada de España), which was linked to a trip there. Six years later it received an Honorable Mention at XXXIV. Salón Municipal de Montevideo . Also in 1986 she was awarded the first price of the painting and drawing competition 70 Aniversario de la Comunidad Israelita del Uruguay and the Premio Bienarte del Alianza Cultural Uruguay-EEUU .
