Aliquoting

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Aliquoting or the associated verb aliquoting mean in the general sense of the word "to determine the aliquot of a quantity". The Duden universal dictionary gives the following two meanings for “aliquot” (derived from the Latin “aliquot” meaning “some”, “a few”): 1.  Mathematical, out of date: dividing without remainder; 2.  Austrian: proportionally. On these meanings building to find the terms factoring and Aliquot as technical terms in technical language to mean "pro-rata calculation / determination" or "pro rata calculate / determine" again.

Aliquoting as the terminus technicus

Aliquoting is used as a technical terminus , especially in human resources management (sub-area of business administration ) and in experimental-analytical natural science , especially in medicine, biology and chemistry.

Business administration and human resource management

In the payroll accounting of companies, aliquoting means the determination of a proportionate, period-related pay. If an employee joins a company during the year (in the middle of the year, in the middle of the accounting period), special payments, such as the Christmas bonus , can be granted pro rata. If an employee joins or leaves the company in the course of a month, their remuneration is proportionate, i.e. calculated and paid proportionally. Non-monetary variables such as the annual vacation entitlement are also aliquoted when joining or leaving a company during the year . Naturally, the concept of aliquoting plays a significant role in software systems that support payroll accounting . Various aliquoting procedures are functionally mapped in these. In addition, the concept of aliquoting plays a major role in law (labor law, pension legislation, etc.), where appropriate framework conditions for the proportional determination of employee claims are regulated.

natural Science

In experimental-analytical medicine, biology and chemistry, the term "aliquot part" describes the subset to be analyzed from a total quantity. The process of splitting is also called aliquoting . It is also a portioning process. See also the article Aliquot (chemistry) .
