Alisdair Hopkinson, 2nd Baron Colyton

Alisdair John Munro Hopkinson, 2nd Baron Colyton (born May 7, 1958 ) is a British peer and non-party politician .

life and career

Hopkinson was born on May 7, 1958 to the Hon. Nicholas Henry Eno Hopkinson (1932-1991) and Fiona Margaret Munro (1937-1996). He has a younger brother.

Membership in the House of Lords

In January 1996, after the death of his grandfather, he inherited the title of Baron Colyton and the then associated seat in the House of Lords .

He took his seat for the first time on October 29, 1998. He never spoke up there.

He lost his seat through the House of Lords Act 1999 . He did not run for one of the remaining seats. The Hereditary Peerage Association he does not belong to. He is not listed in the Register of Hereditary Peers , which are available for by-election.

family

In 1980 he married Philippa J. Bell, the daughter of Peter J. Bell.

They live in Kirriemuir , Angus in Scotland . They have three children, two sons and a daughter.
