The alkus AG is an international company based in Vaduz , Liechtenstein , the all-plastic panels of polypropylene produces. These panels are used almost exclusively as formwork skins for formwork systems.

Companies

In the construction industry, especially for concrete formwork, wood products are preferred. These have some problems and disadvantages due to the basic properties of wood. Alkus AG has tried to develop a formwork panel that has the advantages of conventional wooden panels without the disadvantages.

The developed all-plastic panel made of polypropylene is more robust than a wooden panel due to the properties of polypropylene.

history

Before 1985 there were developments and attempts at alternatives to plywood panels as formlining. In the years 1990–1995, research, development and testing of plastic sheets with various fillers took place. A community of research institutes and industry developed an all-plastic panel from 1995–1997 as a composite structure made of polypropylene and aluminum or glass fibers. In 1998 the alkus all-plastic panel was presented as a study at Bauma . In 1998–2000, industrial production with a recyclable material cycle was set up. The alkus all-plastic panel was presented to the public in the Frankfurt Opera in 2000 . Industrial series production had started. In 2001 , MEVA Schalungs-Systeme was the first industrial user to use alkus all-plastic panels as standard in its formwork systems worldwide. The conversion of all MEVA products to alkus technology was completed in 2005. In 2007, the world's first long-term guarantee was given on a formwork panel.
