All Saints' Church is the old parish church of Fulham in what was before the Reformation county of Middlesex . It is currently an Anglican church in the London borough of Fulham, near the River Thames , next to the northern entrance to Putney Bridge .

history

The church was first mentioned in 1154. With the exception of the tower (construction began in 1440), the current church dates from the late Victorian era (renovated in 1880–81). In the church there are many memorial stones from the previous church. The church tower and parts of the interior are Grade II buildings .

The building and churchyard are near Bishop's Park . The church has a long association with the Bishops of London who were Lords of the Manor of Fulham and is the burial place of many of them. Nearby Fulham Palace is the former manor house of Fulham and the former residence of the bishops.

Putney Bridge is the only bridge in England with a church at each end. The St. Mary's Church is located in Putney on the south shore, and All Saints' Church, Fulham, on the north shore.

Gravesites

Many of London's bishops are buried in the cemetery.
