The late classicist house in the Allee is a listed secular building in Detmold in the Lippe district ( North Rhine-Westphalia ).

History and architecture

The property was acquired in November 1820 by the Princely Council of Antze, who also owned the house at Allee 1 . Originally he wanted to build a barn here, but then undertook to have a residential building built that was structurally compatible with house no. 1 as well as the new town opposite .

The house is a plastered, two-storey eaves structure with a crooked hip roof . The wedge above the entrance door bears the inscription “AA 1821”, and a single flight of stairs leads to the street. During a renovation in 1977/78, the building was completely demolished except for the basement and the front on the ground floor and then rebuilt. Due to the changes in the interior structure, the monument protection is limited to the facade including the roof.
