Allegro Common Lisp is an implementation of the Common Lisp programming language .

history

The first version, still under the name "Extended Common Lisp" (ExCL), was published as the successor to the Lisp dialect Franz Lisp in 1986, two years after the standardization of Common Lisp. The name was changed in 1988.

  • The name “Allegro Common Lisp” was chosen based on the previous product “Franz Lisp” ( derived from Franz Liszt ).
