The AllerWeltHaus Hagen is a free cultural center with a focus on development policy. The cultural center was established in 1988 as a continuation of the Third World Store Hagen in the Dr. Ferdinand David Park in Potthofstraße 22 in Hagen .

The cultural center is sponsored by the development association AllerWeltHaus Hagen eV , which has existed since 1979 (name until 2007: Third World Shop Hagen eV ) and whose aim is to promote development aid.

The cultural center is divided into three areas: Weltladen, Kulturbüro and meeting café.

World shop

Fair trade is the aim and task of the Weltladen , which offers food and handicraft products from cooperatives and cooperatives in the southern hemisphere , with the aim of maintaining and promoting self-determined jobs for producers of goods in developing countries. The Weltladen's additional range includes environmentally friendly paper goods and books on development issues. The Weltladen was founded in the autumn of 1976 in the Westerbauer parish hall and has been the core of the AllerWeltHaus in downtown Hagen since 1988.

Culture office

The cultural office organizes development policy events such as lectures, readings, concerts, plays, workshops and exhibitions. The cultural events usually take place in cooperation with other sponsors and organizations, for example with the city of Hagen, the adult education center, schools and communities, the Hagen North-South Forum.

Café Bistro Mundial

The vegetarian - vegan encounter café offers a changing menu of the day from Monday to Saturday and is organized on a voluntary basis. Since it opened in 1993, the kitchen has primarily been run with migrants . It sees itself pragmatically as the “intersection of cultures”. B. is expressed in the international selection of recipes.

In 1997, the café was awarded the Conciliar Process Prize by the Evangelical Church of Westphalia (since 2003, the Evangelical Church of Westphalia has awarded the Promotional Prize for Justice, Peace and Protection of Creation ). Important events of the association are:
