All-purpose glue is a term adopted in common parlance for a group of solvent-based wet adhesives that are suitable for a large number of different materials and are therefore aimed at the target group of household and hobby users.
properties
In contrast to most adhesives that are used in industry or craft and are often limited to a few materials and areas of application, all-round adhesives do not offer outstanding adhesion on any material , but thanks to their solvent content they allow them to be used on almost all materials (exception: some plastics and silicones ) good wetting . The low chemical resistance (especially to water and organic solvents ) and the low softening temperature (approx. 40 ° C) limit the application to the interior. However, the properties are sufficient for many household applications (materials: paper, cardboard, leather, textiles, wood).
