The Forte Bank (2015 Alliance Bank / Альянс Банк ) is a Kazakh bank based in only Sultan is one of the largest banks in Kazakhstan. It has around 3,500 employees and more than 130 branches in Kazakhstan.

history

Irtyshbusinessbank was founded in 1993 as the predecessor of today's Alliance Bank. On July 13, 1999 , Irtyshbusinessbank merged with Semipalatinsk City Joint Stock Bank. In summer 2001, which was company of the bank in the current name Alliance Bank changed. Alliance Bank issued its first shares on the Kazakh Stock Exchange in November 2002. In addition, the head office was moved to Almaty .

As early as 2006, the bank was one of the largest credit institutions in the country and the largest lender to private individuals. In the following year a cooperation with the VISA International Service Association was decided.

Due to the global financial crisis , the Alliance Bank also got into financial difficulties and had to be supported by the Kazakh government. The state-owned company Samruk-Kazyna finally acquired 100 percent of the shares in 2009 and agreed to reorganize Alliance Bank. The balance sheet total fell from 758 billion tenge in 2008 to 419 billion tenge in the 2009 financial year.

The restructuring and reorganization of the bank, which had accumulated debt totaling 4.6 billion US dollars , was completed in March 2010. At that time, Samruk-Kazyna only held 67 percent of the shares.

On January 1, 2015, the bank announced the merger with ABC Bank and Temirbank . The two banks were integrated into the Alliance Bank. On February 10, 2015, the bank was renamed Forte Bank. The merger was completed in December 2016 and ABC Bank and Temirbank officially ceased operations on December 5th.
