Alliance for Multilateralism

The Alliance for multilateralism ( English Alliance for Multilateralism ) is an informal network of states that a rule-based international order ( Multilateralism want to stabilize). It was founded by Germany and France in April 2019 on the initiative of the Foreign Ministers of France ( Jean-Yves Le Drian ) and Germany ( Heiko Maas ). More than 20 countries attended their meetings, including Argentina, Ethiopia, Belgium, Canada, Chile, Costa Rica, Germany, Dominican Republic, Estonia, Finland, France, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Jordan, Mexico, the Netherlands, Norway, Peru, Singapore, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Tunisia and the United Kingdom.

The alliance is not a group with permanent membership, but a cooperation organization. In September 2019, their initiatives included trust and security in cyberspace , international partnership for information and democracy, a common position of the group of friends on climate and security, education; Equality in the Middle and 11 Principles on Deadly Autonomous Weapons Systems. In April 2020, support for a global health system to fight the COVID-19 pandemic came into focus and a joint statement was adopted. Another meeting took place on June 26, 2020, at which 50 countries came together virtually to discuss not only strengthening the global health architecture, but also safeguarding media freedom and dealing with disinformation.
