The basement of Allt an Inbhir (also called Allt Nan Inbhir) is on the southern side of the Allt an Inbhir creek , about 10.0 m from the creek and 70.0 m from the road, southeast of Letterfearn on Loch Duich in the Scottish Highlands . In the case of the basement, a basic distinction is made between "rock-cut", "earth-cut", "stone built" and "mixed" basements.

The Canmore database explains that archaeologist RB Gourlay was unable to locate the basement last visited in 1910 in 1985 because of the dense fern cover. It was found again with the help of Donald Campbell, who lived his life in Letterfearn, but was not accessible, so nothing is known about the internal structure. Campbell reported that the children of the village were able to crawl about 5 feet into the basement in the 1940s and 1950s. The old men of the village are said to have penetrated even further in their youth. The entrance was blocked by the local farmer because sheep had lodged inside. The structure is oriented north-south; the entrance is at the north end.
