Almocar in Dachau has been building commercial vehicles with internal combustion and electric motors under the Almocar brand name since 1956 .

history

The company existed since 1956 with its headquarters at Herterichstraße 4 in Dachau and later moved to Karl-Benz-Straße 6 a. In addition to the early petrol trucks, forklifts, lift trucks, "ants" and other warehouse logistics vehicles were among the products of this company. At least since the 1960s and at least until the 1990s, there was an extensive range of electric vehicles that included high-speed transporters, three-wheelers and factory tugs. Since the 1990s, the company has operated under the name "ALMOCAR Hornung" and used the name Almocar as a product or brand name. In the 1980s and 1990s, Almocar advertised internationally with the slogan "Almocar: The Way to Success" and in Germany with "Almocar: The name for quality and performance".

Around 2000 it was taken over by Linde AG , which, as a supplier of units for Almocar vehicles, had previously worked closely with the company.
