Alois Hugo Nellmapius

Alois Hugo Nellmapius (born May 5, 1847 in Budapest , † July 27, 1893 ) was a South African businessman and industrialist.

He grew up in Vienna, studied in the Netherlands and arrived in South Africa on board the Nathan in 1873 .

He was successful in prospecting for gold at Pilgrim's Rest in Mpumalanga and in 1875 received the first transport concession to Maputo Bay . He was rewarded with four farms for building Nellmapius Road .
