Alois Jirovetz

Alois Jirovetz (born April 4, 1903 in Möllersdorf ; † September 7, 1980 ) was an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and iron caster. Jirovetz was a member of the Lower Austrian state parliament from 1960 to 1970 .

After elementary school, Jirovetz attended the community school and worked as a metal worker from 1917 to 1929. He was then unemployed and found work as a community employee from 1931. Jirovetz was imprisoned for political reasons between 1934 and 1935 and then unemployed. In 1938 he finally found work as a community worker. He was drafted temporarily for military service and in 1945 elected to the municipality and city council in Traiskirchen . He then worked professionally as head of the Lower Austrian Chamber of Labor and became Vice Mayor in 1957. Between 1960 and 1972 he was mayor of Traiskirchen. He represented the SPÖ between June 23, 1960 and July 2, 1970 in the Lower Austrian state parliament.
