Aloysius Regenbrecht

Aloysius Regenbrecht (born March 15, 1929 in Peterswalde, today Pietrzwald, East Prussia, † November 29, 2004 near Münster ) was a German educator.

Life

In 1950 Regenbrecht passed the Abitur in Lingen (Ems) . He studied elementary school teaching in Alfeld (Leine) , then switched to science and was promoted to Dr. in 1955 by Alfred Petzelt. Phil is doing his PhD.

This was followed by teaching at an elementary school in the district of Osnabrück and lecturing at the Klausenhof rural youth academy in Dingden (Westphalia). In 1958 Regenbrecht became a research assistant at the University of Education in Vechta (Oldenburg). From 1961 he took over a lectureship and later a professorship for school pedagogy and general didactics at the Pedagogical Academy in Dortmund. In 1965 Regenbrecht was appointed full professor for these subjects at the University of Education Westphalia-Lippe, Münster department, of which he was Rector 1969-1970. In 1967 he began the conceptual development of a comprehensive school, the Münster Peace School .

His activities included the initiative to found the Munster discussion group for scientific education. Since 1983, the discussion group has met for three days in Münster two weeks before Easter and organized lectures and discussion groups on issues relating to education. Regenbrecht was the spokesman for the board and leader, as well as a participant in many of the working groups that organized the specialist conferences. His particular educational interest was in the problems of moral education and school organization. After the merger of the pedagogical college and the university, Regenbrecht was a member and temporarily managing director of the 'Institute 4' for the theory of schools and the educational organization of Department IX, Educational Science. In 1994 Aloysius Regenbrecht retired. He died near Münster in 2004 and was buried in Lingen.
