The Alphabet Fleet Management GmbH is the service provider for fleet leasing and fleet management of the BMW Group . Alphabet specializes in vehicle leasing and financing as well as fleet management . In addition, the BMW subsidiary develops solutions for employee mobility , such as in the areas of corporate car sharing , electromobility and their links to e-car sharing. Alphabet Fuhrparkmanagement is a member of the Federal Association of German Leasing Companies .

history

The company was founded in Great Britain in 1997 and is now represented in Australia, Belgium, China, Denmark, Germany, France, Great Britain, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Poland, Austria, Sweden, Switzerland and Spain. There are also cooperations in Romania, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary. The German branch was founded in 1998 and is headquartered in Munich . There are further offices in Berlin, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt / Main, Hamburg, Hanover and Stuttgart.

In December 2006 the companies LHS Leasing- und Handelsgesellschaft mbH and DSL Fleetservices GmbH, both based in Stuttgart, were taken over. On January 1, 2009, Alphabet Fuhrparkmanagement GmbH and LHS Leasing- und Handelsgesellschaft mbH were merged. DSL Fleetservices GmbH has been operating under the new name Fleetlevel + since April 2009. The Alphabet subsidiary provided technical support and management in particular for fleets with commercial and special vehicles. In July 2013, Fleetlevel + and, accordingly, the fleet management business area were spun off from Alphabet and finally sold to ARI Investment Holding, LLC.

In 2011, Alphabet acquired ING Car Lease, a subsidiary of the ING Groep , for € 637 million , thereby expanding the leasing and fleet management business by 240,000 vehicles. The orange ribbon in the alphabet logo refers to the merger.

Companies

The company offers services around the topic of company cars - from advice on vehicle financing and leasing to full-service offers. Although the fleet service provider belongs to the BMW Group, Alphabet operates as a multi-brand company and provides customers with vehicles from various manufacturers.

In total, Alphabet currently looks after over 700,000 fleet vehicles and light commercial vehicles in 30 countries, over 170,000 of them in Germany alone. According to the company, this makes it one of the largest providers of leasing and fleet management services.
