Alphonse Depuiset
Alphonse Depuiset , actually Louis Marie Alphonse Depuiset , (born September 20, 1822 in Autry , Département Ardennes , † March 17, 1886 in Paris ) was a French entomologist .
Life
Depuiset was the son of a taxidermist and it was through him that he received his first science lessons. Initially, the general interest was directed towards entomology, but soon he specialized in butterflies (Lepidoptera).
Depuiset came to Paris around 1840. He stayed in town, and from 1850 he made his living as an insect dealer. He was supported by friends such as B. the natural scientist Jean Baptiste Alphonse Dechauffour de Boisduval .
