Alt-Niederursel 20
The half-timbered house Alt-Niederursel 20 is the oldest surviving house in Frankfurt-Niederursel , a north-western district of Frankfurt am Main .
Based on dendrochronological studies, the year of construction of the house was estimated to be 1581. This house was the only one to survive the fires of 1603, 1628, 1635 and 1675.
The half-timbered house was built on a high brick cellar vault. In the 19th century, the street-side gable on the first floor was supplemented with a wooden shingle screen. A shop was set up on the ground floor. In addition, the original impression of the house was changed by installing windows.
In 1977 the changes were reversed and the missing trusses were reconstructed. The house is a listed building. The listed topography describes the house as follows: “Half-timbered house from 1581 with a bay window on a profiled oak column. Relief carvings on the decorative facade. Rotated corner stands. "
