Old rectory in Schwieberdingen

The old rectory is a listed building not far from the Protestant Georgskirche in Eugen-Herrmann-Straße 5 in Schwieberdingen .

history

On the site of the current building, Friedrich von Nippenburg donated an early measurement fund for Schwieberdingen in 1360 so that the early knife , who had to read the first mass in the morning, had an estate for his livelihood. The current building was erected on the foundations of the building in 1579 as a Protestant rectory. Until 1970 it was the home and workplace of a total of 33 pastorsand their families. After that, the old rectory came into the possession of the community and, among other purposes, temporarily served as the seat of the Schwieberdingen police station. When he moved out, a local museum was set up in the building in March 1991 on the initiative of the Heimat- und Kulturkreis. As a result, the museum garden was laid out in 1993 and a fully functional forge was built in 1994. The museum was temporarily closed from 1997 to 2001 due to the necessary renovation of the framework and beams.
