Old Town Hall (Prestwick)
The old town hall of Prestwick is located in the Scottish town of Prestwick in the Council Area South Ayrshire . The building dates from 1837. Originally built as a school, the building later served as the town hall. The ground floor was also used as a prison at times. In the 1850s, an average of 60 students attended school. The principal received a salary of £ 5, which was financed by school fees. In 1971 the structure was included in the Scottish List of Monuments in Category B.

The building is in a prominent position at the junction of Kirk Street and Monkton Road ( A79 ) in the old center of Prestwick. The striking structure is designed in the neo-Gothic style. A three-story tower with a pointed helmet emerges on the south-east exposed front. It is decoratively ornamented with buttresses and coffin cornices . Tower clocks are installed on all sides. The elongated, two-story building is designed with arched windows. It ends with a hipped roof .
