The Luxembourg Post and Telecommunications Museum (“PostMusée”) is located in Luxembourg (city) . It shows the history of the post office and telecommunications in Luxembourg .

opening hours

The PostMusée, run by Post Luxembourg , is located in the basement of the historic “Accinauto building” opposite the main train station . The entrance leads through the "Téléboutique". It can be visited regularly free of charge. After prior registration, a free tour is offered for groups of five to 25 people. There are also special programs for school classes.

Exhibits

The collection exhibits can be roughly divided into three areas.

  • Telecommunications / Telecommunications: Here old telephones and other rare communication devices can be viewed . Furthermore, a functioning Morse code machine , manual and electromechanical telephone exchanges as well as the reconstruction of a telecommunications construction site are shown.
  • Postal system: On display are a stagecoach from 1880, an original post office counter from 1912 and a post office . In addition, all Luxembourg postage stamps and old printing plates issued since 1852 can be seen. A collection of uniforms and objects from the postal service round off the area.
  • Post banking : The beginnings of Postchèque are also presented using old objects and devices .
