The A79 road ( English for road A79 ) is one of the shortest of the two-digit A-roads in Great Britain with a length of 12.1 km. It connects the city of Ayr with Glasgow-Prestwick Airport and connects to the A70 road in the south and the A78 road in the north at Monkton (South Ayrshire) . The road is not designated as a primary route.
