Althaimenes
Althaimenes ( Greek Ἀλθαιμένης ) is in Greek mythology the son of Katreus , king of Crete and thus brother of Aërope , Klymene and Apemosyne . Because he was supposed to kill his father according to an oracle, he was sent by him to Rhodes . When his father came to give him power, a misunderstanding arose. When Katreus and his companions went ashore, shepherds thought they were pirates and pelted them with stones. When they resisted, Althaimenes, Katreu's son, came up and killed his father with a spear , whereupon a crevice swallowed him up.
