Altmann (Abbot)
Altmann († 1045 in Persenbeug ) was a Bavarian Benedictine .
He was the fake grandson of Ulrich , Count von Ebersberg, and son of Eberhard, a ministerial of the Counts of Ebersberg. In 1024 he was elected second abbot of the Ebersberg monastery . Because he was a minor, he was initially assigned a priest from the monastery. The chroniclers praise his spiritual gifts. He built new monastery buildings and a hospital. He lost his life when he fell from the floor of the Persenbeug Castle .
