Alwin Riedmann

Alwin Riedmann (born January 21, 1941 in Bregenz ) is a former Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and representative. From 1980 to 1984 and from 1987 to 1994 he was a member of the Vorarlberg state parliament .

education and profession

After finishing primary school, Riedmann attended secondary school in Bregenz and completed an apprenticeship as a typesetter at JN Teutsch in Bregenz from 1955 to 1959. He trained as a machine and photo setter and did his military service in 1960. From 1961 to 1984 Riedmann worked as a typesetter, head of typesetting and sales representative for Switzerland at the Pfanner printing company, after which he was an independent representative for printed matter until 2001. In 2001 Riedmann retired.

Politics and functions

Riedmann became a union member and joined the printing and paper union in 1955. From 1956 he was also a member of the Socialist Youth and between 1961 and 1969 was involved as chairman of the Vorarlberg youth union. He was also chairman of the Vorarlberg printing and paper union from 1966 to 1969. In 1963, Riedmann had also joined the SPÖ, which he then represented in the Hard municipal council from 1970 to 1995. Among other things, he was chairman of the school building committee from 1970 to 1980 and chairman of the culture committee from 1980 to 1995. Within the party, he worked from 1966 to 1994 as local party chairman of the SPÖ Hard, from 1967 to 1995 a member of the SPÖ district executive committee in Bregenz and from 1967 to 1995 member and secretary of the state committee of the SPÖ Vorarlberg.

Riedmann was sworn in as a member of the Bregenz electoral district on August 1, 1980 as the successor to Norbert Neururer for the Vorarlberg state parliament. He belonged to the state parliament until November 5, 1984 and moved up again on October 17, 1987, this time for Fritz Mayr in the state parliament, which he subsequently belonged to until October 3, 1994. Riedmann was area spokesman for culture and sport of the SPÖ state parliament club.

Private

Alwin Riedmann was born the son of the warehouse keeper Erwin Riedmann and his wife Laura Riedmann. He married Gertraud Hack in 1965 and had a son in 1969 and a daughter in 1970.
