The residential building Am Hohlebrunnen 2 in Gonzenheim , a district of Bad Homburg vor der Höhe, is a cultural monument and is of historical importance as a former " Jewish house ".

The house was possibly built by Georg Schad in 1915 . Stylistically, it was designed based on the country houses of French historicism. The house is a cubic, closed two-storey building with a risalit-framed front. The mansard roof rising in lateral truncated pyramids is particularly distinctive . The monument topography highlights the rich design of the gabled upper floor double windows with Corinthian columns, herms, etc. The facade is defined by a red / beige color-contrasting structure as well as the partially decaying mannerist Renaissance decor. The building is designated as a cultural monument for architectural and historical reasons. The house stands on a 700 m plot and has 13 rooms. It is at the beginning of the street "Am Hohlebrunnen" at the Europakreisel, which forms the end of the central Louisenstraße in Bad Homburg . At the time of construction, the street was called "Am Rondell", then "Hindenburg-Ring", then "Gorch-Fock-Straße" and today Am Hohlebrunnen.

Since the beginning of the 1920s a Margarethe Groß ran a spa pension in the house, which was called "Villa Renaissance". During the National Socialist era , the Grosses were persecuted as Jews by the National Socialists and deported on August 28, 1942. This also ended the operation of the spa pension. The house was now used as a “Jewish house”, in which the Jews had to live after being driven from their own apartments before they were deported to the death camps. For at least seven Bad Homburg Jews, the house at Am Hohlebrunnen 2 was the last place of residence before they were murdered. In addition to this house, the houses at Kisseleffstrasse 12 and 14 also served as “Jewish houses”.
