Amaleus
Amaleus ( ancient Greek Ἀμαλεύς ) is a person from Greek mythology .
He is the eldest of six children of Amphion and Hippomedusa . As a close friend of his cousin Itylos , he became the object of envy from his mother Aëdon , the wife of Amphion's twin brother Zethos . Envious of her brother-in-law's number of children, she decided to kill Amaleus that night. She confuses him with her own son and kills him instead of Amaleus.
