Amalie Halter-Zollinger
Amalie Halter-Zollinger (born June 15, 1892 in Hombrechtikon , † April 27, 1985 there ) was a Swiss dialect poet.
Life
Halter-Zollinger spent almost her entire life in Hombrechtikon in the house where she was born, where her father's watchmaking shop and, until the Second World War, also the grocery and general store run by Amalie Halter was located.
She didn't start writing until she was around 50, initially with short stories for the newspapers. The radio stations were also quickly interested in the stories, as Amalie Halter spoke the old Zurich-German dialect . She attached great importance to the preservation of the dialect and the correct spelling. Many of the stories and poems were published in book form between 1951 and 2010.
A poem by Amalie Halter has been in the golden ball on top of the Hombrechtik church tower since the renovation in 1960.
Amalie Halter died in Hombrechtikon at the age of 92.
