Aman Mojadidi

Aman Mojadidi (* 1971 in Jacksonville ) is an American author and filmmaker of Afghan origin.

life and work

Aman Mojadidi studied cultural anthropology . He works primarily on site-specific projects that combine qualitative research, traditional storytelling , postmodern narrative strategies and mixed media installations to address issues such as belonging, identity politics , conflict and migration . Mojadidi is known for his public art projects, in which he examines the political situation in Afghanistan and intercultural identities.

Aman Mojadidi was the curator of the dOCUMENTA (13) branch in Kabul and participant of dOCUMENTA (13) in Kassel, the Dhaka Art Summit (2016), Asia Triennial Manchester (2014), Havana Biennial (2015). In 2012 and 2018 he was invited to participate in the Kochi-Muziris Biennale in Kochi .
