Mixed media
In the visual arts, the term mixed media stands for the use of different media in the creation of a work.
An example of mixed media is the integration of graphic elements in a painting on the same painting surface: this is then neither a collage nor multimedia .
Especially with adhesive techniques, it is important to allow the individual layers to dry well and to apply oil paint - if used - last. When using many or heavy materials, the painting surface should be particularly firm, wood is often used.
Andy Warhol is considered a pioneer of mixed media .
Mixed Media is not to be confused with the mixed technique , a Technique of oil painting .
