Amanda is a song by the American rock band Boston from 1986. It is a love song. The melody is accompanied by electric guitars and acoustic guitars . After being released as a single on September 26, 1986, Amanda became Boston's most successful single and reached # 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for two weeks in November 1986. Tom Scholz wrote and produced the song back in 1980, but it was not released until 1986 on their album Third Stage .
