Amani pilade

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Amanipilade was a reigning Nubian queen who ruled at the beginning of the fourth century AD.

Amanipilade is only known from a Meroitic inscription on a sacrificial tablet that was found in Meroe . Stylistically, this sacrificial table is set very late. Her parents are also named there (father: Tekye, mother: Makehanye). It is not entirely certain whether Amanipilade is really a woman. Amanipilade is in any case one of the last attested rulers in Meroe.
