Amaranth (color)

The concept of color amaranth is from blossoming in this color red amaranth derived and called a strong, mostly bright red, which easily goes into bluish, less bluish than the magenta of the four-color printing from the CMY color space and usually not as pale as Rosa .
According to Maerz & Paul, the term amaranth for a color appeared in English for the first time in 1690.
The azo dye amaranth is also used as a food coloring and is approved in Europe as a food additive E 123.
etymology
The word amaranth comes from the Greek [ἀμάραντος, Amarantos ]. This means something like “not perishing”, ie “always blooming”. In Greek mythology, Amarantus is an ever-blooming flower that was well hidden by the gods. But whoever finds it becomes immortal.
