Ambrosio Srl. is an Italian manufacturer of bicycle frames and bicycle components from Solaro , metropolitan city of Milan , Lombardy .
history
The Ambrosio brand was registered by the brothers Giovanni and Giuseppe Ambrosio in 1923, after they had been active in Turin with their company for several years .
Ambrosio worked with Campagnolo to restore Italy's reputation for bicycle components after the Second World War . In the 1950s the company had several hundred employees. After the death of Giuseppe Ambrosio, his son Gilberto took over the company. A combination of "bad governance, little investment and a tough market" led the company to break up in the early 1960s. In 1961, the employee Mario Dedioniggi left the company and founded the component manufacturer 3ttt in Turin. It was then that the Marsorati family joined the company. Piero Marsorati had already founded a successful rim factory in Milan in 1941.
Today the company is known for its balance bikes and equips well-known manufacturers with them.
Products
Ambrosio today produces both aluminum and carbon frames for road cycling and track cycling . The wheelsets and rims from Ambrosio, with which different manufacturers (including Bianchi ) equip their bikes, are well known.
Sponsorship
Ambrosio equipped riders for the Giro d'Italia , the UCI World Championships and the Tour de France and in 2010 was the technical supplier of the UCI Professional Continental Team Diquigiovanni-Androni and the UCI Women's Team Menikini-Selle Italia-Masters Color .
