9.2

Ameghino is a small impact crater north of the Sinus Successus , a bay in the northeastern part of the Mare Fecunditatis . The landing sites of the Russian lunar probes Luna 18 and Luna 20 are less than 15 kilometers to the northwest.

Before the renaming by the IAU , he served as Apollonius C known. The main crater Apollonius lies east-northeast of Ameghino.
