Amelie Zadeh

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Amelie Zadeh (born November 28, 1985 in Linz ) is an Austrian visual artist who works at the interface between theory and practice. She lives and works in Hamburg and Vienna .

Life

Zadeh studied cultural studies at the University of Vienna, fine arts and cultural studies at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna with Matthias Herrmann (photographer) and with Jeanne Faust at the University of Fine Arts Hamburg . 2016 Diploma Academy of Fine Arts Vienna, class for art and photography (Matthias Herrmann, Mona Hahn). In her artistic work, she is interested in current issues relating to photography and image politics at the interface between theory and practice. Both the individual process and collective projects such as publications serve as a starting point for approaching these subject areas. The starting point of their artistic practice is mostly photography. She often appropriates image material found in databases or the Internet, which she processes in the darkroom using analog technical processes. Amelie Zadeh examines the being and becoming of the photographic image and questions the medium with regard to its materiality. In addition to her artistic production, she also dedicates herself to projects as a curator and author that expand her work. Since 2012 she has been the editor of the Streulicht-Magazin for photography and related things, and in 2017 the publication series “Carte Blanche” was created.
