Amenemhab

Amenemhab was an ancient Egyptian civil servant at the end of the 18th dynasty . His main office was the mayor of Thebes . In addition, he was also the king's scribe , head of the barn of Amun and head of domain in the temple of Djeserkare (= Amenophis I ) in the west of Thebes .

Amenemhab is best known for his Theban grave TTA8 . Karl Richard Lepsius described a scene from the grave in the middle of the 19th century and copied the corresponding inscriptions. Some family members were also named here. His father's name was Mahu, his mother Kanuro, his wife Taneferet. The grave has been lost since it was first found, but must have been in Dra Abu el-Naga . Amenemhab is also known from a statue that is now in the Hermitage in St. Petersburg (inventory number 740).
