The American Society for Clinical Investigation (ASCI) is an American learned society based in Ann Arbor and was founded in 1908.

Active members are elected by election and should have distinguished themselves through special achievements in the field of clinical research . A maximum of 80 new members are elected each year; they may not be more than 50 years old at the time of election. In 2016 there were over 3,000 passive members.

The first president was Samuel James Meltzer , the current president (2017/2018) is Vivian G. Cheung .

The association is a member of the Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology and publishes the Journal of Clinical Investigation (since 1925) and JCI Insight (since 2015) as scientific journals .

The association awards several scientific prizes , including the Stanley J. Korsmeyer Award since 1998 and the Harrington Prize for Innovation in Medicine since 2014 .
