Collective works

  • "Journalism in the networked age": The new information and communication technologies are nowadays assigned the role of an engine of social development. At this point in time, however, the full scope of the changes cannot yet be calculated. This anthology takes up the experiences of those who are confronted with information technology changes in their communication-oriented work, in their daily work and in their training. In addition to the changed content, forms and texts that are mentioned again and again in connection with the Internet, it is about the changed field of activity of professional communicators and alternative forms of organization of communication work. Political and legal aspects form a separate focus.
  • "Internet and the future of print media": The Internet is causing problems for traditional media in many ways. Publishers and other media actors are in the situation of having to invest in a future whose contours are only slowly becoming visible. In this compilation, the results of various empirical studies are placed in context and interpreted with a view to future developments.
  • "Media and communication in the knowledge society": This compilation deals with central aspects of the modern knowledge society (change and current status). Particular attention is paid to questions of politics and economics in the knowledge society, changes in organizational and corporate communication, as well as the use of wikis and other collaborative communication media for the visualization, distribution and storage of knowledge.
